Northumberland OPP announces the seize of $135,000 worth cannabis from a traffic stop

Earlier in the previous week, Northumberland OPP revealed that in a traffic stop they charged two men who were reportedly caught in possession of roughly $135,000 worth of cannabis.

As per reported by the Police, “At around 1 a.m. 11th March, Thursday, a westbound pickup truck on Telephone Road in the Municipality of Brighton was halted for an alleged Highway Traffic Act offense at an area 30 kilometers east of Cobourg.”

Police officials also further said that the officers-in-charge grew suspicious after detecting a strong odour of cannabis emanating from the vehicle. After conducting an investigation, they found 13.5 kilograms of cannabis and weapons including a conducted energy weapon.

The two individuals arrested were Breanne Hass, 24, of Quinte West and Maxwell Drake Jenkins, 25, they were reportedly charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of Prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of cannabis for selling purposes

Reports also state that there were additional charges pressed on Hass in which he was accused of having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

As per reports, May 22nd has been set as the date for both individuals who are currently released to be presented in the court in Cobourg.
