The world finally has an alternative to opioids which put health at great risk and are addictive. Welcome cannabidiol oil that has an arsenal full of medicinal properties. CBD oil can provide a number of benefits for your health ranging from pain relief and improved sleep to the inhabitation of cancer cells. So, what is it that is keeping people from choosing it?

Firstly, it is the misunderstanding that cannabidiol and tetrahydrocannabinol are interchangeable. In truth, both the cannabinoids differ from one another. Like THC, CBD doesn’t pose any health risks. It doesn’t have psychoactive properties. Then there is the issue of prices. People are hesitant when it comes to purchasing CBD oil because it is so expensive. You can get a bottle anywhere from $50 to $200. But why is it that CBD oil is so costly?

Factors That Contribute To The High Cost Of CBD Oil

Cannabidiol oil is high-priced because of two reasons mainly. The first one is that it’s making requires a lot of work. Business owners set prices based on the efforts that they are putting into bringing the bottles to shelves. Then, of course, they also add their profits. From the harvesting of the hemp plant to the extraction of cannabidiol and the packaging, the process is lengthy. It requires a lot of space and even more money. So, CBD Oil manufactures make huge investments.

A lot of plant material goes into getting just a small vial of CBD oil. The hemp agriculture procedure requires indoor growth and specific environmental measures to be taken. After harvesting, a decorticator machine is used for separating various parts. Then there is extraction which is done either through the use of ethanol or by means of CO2 extraction.

Apart from machines there are also the costs of infrastructure, labor, and raw materials. After this, the process of decarboxylation is conducted. Once the oil is prepared, there are further costs of packaging as well as third-party lab testing. Top that up with advertising and setting up purchase and payment portals. The costs don’t end here though.

To keep legal trouble at bay, cannabis companies need attorneys. There also needs to be a team for various departments from customer service to quality control managers. The business needs to be covered by an insurance policy as well. Coming to the second reason behind why CBD oil is so expensive – because a lot of hype is surrounding it right now. When a product is in, naturally its market prices rise.

What About CBD Oils That Are Cheaper?

When wandering the isle of cannabis products, you are likely to come across some cheaper CBD oil products as well. You should know that CBD isolate is cheaper in comparison to full-spectrum hemp oil. This is because the former only contains CBD extract while the later also comprises of terpenes, polyphenols, and other active cannabinoids.

As for the very cheap CBD products, those typically are low in the quality department. They either are not tested or they don’t contain as much CBD extract as they claim. It can also be that there is a lot of filler addition in them. Consuming low-quality CBD products can be, at best, useless. At worst, it can be outright unsafe with detrimental impacts on your health.
